The measurement accuracy of the electromagnetic flowmeter is not affected by variations in fluid density, viscosity, temperature, pressure, and conductivity, and the sensor-induced voltage signal is linearly related to the average flow velocity, so the measurement accuracy is high. It does not produce the pressure loss caused by the detection flow. The resistance of the instrument is only the resistance along the same length of the pipeline, and the energy saving effect is significant. It is most suitable for the large diameter water supply pipeline that requires low resistance loss.
Only part of the electromagnetic flow sensor is in contact with the liquid to be measured by the inner lining and the electrode, so long as the electrode and the inner lining material are reasonably selected, it can be resistant to corrosion and wear.
However, there are some restrictions on the use of electromagnetic flowmeters, such as the inability to measure gases, vapors, and liquids that contain large bubbles, and the inability to measure liquids with low electrical conductivity, such as petroleum products and organic solvents. Also, because of the limitations of lining materials and electrical insulating materials, it cannot be used to measure higher temperature liquids.
